Visit to the Arboretum 9/01/2011

When I was growing up I wasnt a girly girl. I didnt like flowers until my 16th birthday, when I had a Jeep Limousine and the driver gave me a really unique selection of flowers. I was in awe, took photos of them and wanted them to last forever. Obviously that was impossible because they werent in soil, but they did last quite long. Birthday in February and if I can remember rightly, they started shriveling up in about April. I turned 16 in 2006 so I could be slightly off.

With me being a Photographer and an appreciater of the beauty that the good Lord has provided us with, taking a trip to the Arboretum and bringing my K-r along with me was inevitable. If I can use one word to describe each flower instead of using their actual name (because I dont know their names yet) I think I'll run out of words but I'll try. (You might learn a few words along the way.)

The uploading process will take me some time because just like my Carnival post, there are so much photos to choose from and their all filled with natural beauty.

I hope these sensational flowers have managed to widen your vocabulary, my brain grew as I thought of words to describe each one.

If I wasnt impressed by the gorgeous site of all the flowers above, I was breaking my neck to look right to the top of some extremely tall trees. To me, the amount of breeds were uncountable, but I did some research and found that there is a collection of over 800 trees. No wonder my neck was stiff at the end of my visit to the Arboretum LOL!

My family couldnt help but jump into my shots and add the beauty of the flowers and trees in the background to their natural beauty.

THEN... I came from behind the lense and made use of such a lovely and peaceful environment to give myself and nice photo and a beautiful memory. I'm definitely not camera shy anymore.

We have to take a moment and thank God for what He has placed on this earth for us to adore. I couldnt imagine the earth without flowers, shrubs, grass and trees. We require trees for oxygen, pollen from flowers for honey and the colours of petals to brighten up our days. We need to be grateful for what we have and not be so complacent.
